Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the development strategy for new data center facilities, ensuring alignment with corporate growth objectives and business strategy.
- Project Management: Oversee the full development lifecycle of data centers, from site selection, acquisition, and design, through construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with senior leadership, real estate, engineering, and operational teams to prioritize and execute development projects that meet the company's performance, quality, and sustainability goals.
- Market Analysis & Site Acquisition: Identify and assess new market opportunities, including geographic regions, customer demands, and data center infrastructure requirements. Negotiate and secure favorable lease agreements, land purchases, and zoning approvals for data center projects.
- Design & Engineering Oversight: Ensure that data center designs are scalable, energy-efficient, and meet industry standards for uptime, security, and performance. Oversee the selection and management of external architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets for development projects, ensuring financial targets and KPIs are met. Approve project expenditures and ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks throughout the development process, including regulatory compliance, market dynamics, construction delays, and cost overruns.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of development professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Provide coaching and support for career development.
- Sustainability & Innovation: Champion the integration of innovative technologies and sustainable practices into the design and operation of data centers. Ensure compliance with environmental standards, energy efficiency goals, and green certifications.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers, ensuring quality standards are met and timelines are adhered to.
- Reporting & Communication: Regularly report on the status of development projects to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other senior stakeholders. Ensure clear, transparent communication on key project milestones, risks, and opportunities.
