The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of small to middle market financial institution risks, including asset management firms, investment advisors, and other financial entities. This role requires a deep understanding of the financial services industry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with wholesale brokers and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business for small to mid-size financial institutions, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and risk appetite.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokers, clients, and other stakeholders to drive business growth and retention.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure comprehensive risk assessment and management.
- Monitor market trends and emerging risks to inform underwriting decisions and product development.
- Prepare and present underwriting reports and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of underwriting experience in the financial institutions sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field.
- Professional designations such as CPCU, RPLU, or similar are preferred.
