An industry leading Hedge Fund in NYC is looking for a technical lead to join a startup team. They're looking for a talented SWE to help spearhead this team, tasked with taking a core internal product from 0 > 1. Additionally, the team is responsible for developing a suite of applications to be leveraged by a variety of users across the firm in both back and front office positions.
As a leader in the industry, the firm prides itself of its ability to hire, manage, evaluate, and develop its workforce to ensure market leading success rates. The core product will leverage data analytics to generate insights for senior members of the firm to leverage for business-critical decision making. The firm views this role as an integral component of their success and has therefore placed a very high priority on this position according to the CTO. They are offering above market rate compensation for this position and are looking to invest in the best engineers to 'build' this team, rather than looking to 'buy' 3rd party solutions off the shelf.
The opportunity offers lots of ownership and autonomy over a wide scope of work, as the team is deeply embedded with users across the firm. The firm is looking for candidates with at least 4 years of experience, and proficiency in Java with TypeScript and React. As a leadership role on a startup team, the ideal individual will need to be ready to make an immediate impact with minimal handholding and the skillset to collaborate with senior stakeholders throughout the development process.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a suite of applications to be used enterprise-wide by the firm that are scalable and can accommodate future iterations
- Bring a core internal product from 0 > 1
- Serve as a hands-on technical leader on the team, ensuring performance grade quality
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to leverage data analytics and insights for product development
Qualifications:
- Experience with Java, TypeScript, React
- GCP or AWS experience
- At least 4 years of professional experience (start-up experience is a plus, finance is not necessary)
- Ability to work in the NYC office
- Experience in 0 > 1 product development is a plus
