Our client is looking for a Senior Director of Small Group Underwriting with expertise in self-funding, level-funding, employer stop-loss, and medical underwriting, particularly in the Texas market. This role requires a collaborative leader with experience in the small group employer segment, working closely with Sales, Actuarial, Finance teams, and third-party partners like MGUs and TPAs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead underwriting operations from quoting to renewals, ensuring compliance and financial performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive underwriting solutions.
- Optimize processes and enhance customer experience through technology and data analytics.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing underwriting team.
- Monitor market trends in Texas to inform strategies.
- Present underwriting performance insights to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
- 10+ years of underwriting experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role focused on small group employers.
- In-depth knowledge of self-funding, level-funding, and medical underwriting in the Texas market.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
