A leading Hedgefund Based in Shanghai is looking for a Senior Portfolio Manager as they look to expand their global footprint and buildout a New York based office. The ideal candidate will have extensive trading experience in Global Equities and Chinese financial markets as well as a proven track record of independent research, and proprietary investment strategies. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to generate alpha and manage risk effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee equity investment strategies with a focus on China A-shares.
- Conduct thorough independent research and analysis of the Chinese financial markets to identify investment opportunities.
- Utilize proprietary investment strategies and intellectual property to drive portfolio performance.
- Manage and monitor portfolio risk, ensuring alignment with clients' investment objectives and risk tolerance.
- Collaborate with the research team to generate actionable insights and investment ideas.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes impacting the Chinese financial markets.
- Present investment strategies and portfolio performance to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Mentor and develop junior analysts and portfolio managers within the team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in portfolio management with a focus on equities and China A-shares.
- Strong background in the Chinese financial markets and deep understanding of the regulatory environment.
- Proven track record of generating alpha through independent research and proprietary strategies.
- Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; CFA designation preferred.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment strategies to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large portfolios and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
