A leading proprietary trading firm in Chicago is seeking a Network Engineer to design, optimise, and maintain their mission-critical low latency networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimise low-latency network solutions for trading systems.
- Manage and enhance Multicast networks for efficient market data distribution.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance to ensure reliability and speed.
- Collaborate with traders and developers to align network systems with trading needs.
- Automate network tasks and configurations using Python scripting.
- Plan for network scalability and ensure security compliance.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in low-latency networking, multicast (e.g., PIM, IGMP), and TCP/IP protocols.
- Strong experience with network hardware (Arista, Cisco, Juniper) and tools like Wireshark.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Linux networking, market data protocols, or FPGA-based systems.
This role must sit in the firms Chicago office working in a hybrid model of 3 days in office per week.
Salary - $200,000 - 250,000 base salary plus annual performance bonus
