The candidate's primary responsibilities will be to conduct quantitative alpha signal research encompassing traditional financial and ESG sustainability. Need to have experience sourcing and testing novel traditional and alternative data as well as the ability to build ESG tools to generate reports for the firm. This Research Analyst will also assist the broader Quantitative Research Group on projects related to machine learning and/or natural language processing. It will be a collaborative role and the candidate will interact with fundamental investment team members and other departments within the firm. Further qualifications/requirements below:
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of quantitative research experience
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and technical skills (need proficiency in Python and SQL)
- Interest in climate change science and its effect on investment implications on a global scale
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with strong GPA in a stem subject (Masters of PhD preferred)
- ESG certification is a plus
- Experience with quantitative equity investments
- Relevant ESG experience:
- Ability to identify and test investment implications of ESG and client change issues
- Knowledge of methodologies for climate change scenario analysis
- Knowledge of ESG data sets and sources that can be used to evaluate the risks of climate change
