Position Overview: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantitative Analyst with a strong background in the commodities/energy sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing quantitative models and strategies to support trading activities and risk management. This is a fully on-site position in Amsterdam, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment at the forefront of the renewable energy market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quantitative models for pricing, trading, and risk management in the renewable energy commodities market.
- Analyze large datasets to identify market trends, trading opportunities, and risk factors.
- Collaborate closely with traders, risk managers, and other stakeholders to provide quantitative insights and support decision-making processes.
- Conduct backtesting and performance analysis of trading strategies to ensure their effectiveness and robustness.
- Continuously monitor and improve existing models and algorithms to enhance their accuracy and performance.
- Stay updated with the latest developments and trends in the energy markets and quantitative finance.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantitative Analyst in the commodities/energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy markets and trading practices.
- Proficiency in quantitative modeling, statistical analysis, and data analysis techniques.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB, and familiarity with relevant data analysis libraries.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with large datasets and complex algorithms.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Finance. Advanced degrees (Master's or Ph.D.) are preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in trading and risk management.
- Knowledge of financial instruments and derivatives used in the energy markets.
- Familiarity with trading platforms and risk management systems used in the energy sector.
