Site Reliability Engineers apply SRE practices to the financial trading industry, utilizing innovation and advanced technology to reduce complexity and enhance performance. SREs are responsible for moving applications to production, providing early-stage support during development, and ensuring smooth functionality throughout the application's lifecycle. They possess a deep understanding of application operations and are capable of adapting them to meet production-quality standards. This role involves collaborating with engineers, developers, and trade support teams to design and maintain world-class systems and tools that continuously evolve. The ideal candidate will be innovative, automate processes, and leverage data and statistics for constant improvement. Team members come from diverse backgrounds including software development, networking, UNIX internals, and large-scale systems administration.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure application reliability, availability, and performance
- Automate repetitive tasks and resolve systemic issues
- Perform root cause analysis and implement engineering solutions
- Manage and resolve incidents
- Advocate for and promote the SRE mindset to other teams
- Provide support and ensure applications are production-ready
Qualifications:
- Strong background in computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language
- Familiarity with software development tools and practices (testing, source control, build systems, CI/CD, etc.)
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking, LAN, WAN, and Linux networking
- SQL and database experience is a plus
- Experience building and managing large-scale, reliable systems is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Entrepreneurial spirit and strong problem-solving abilities
- Passion for learning, adapting to new technologies, and creating innovative solutions to complex challenges
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
