My client is an independent employee benefits consulting and actuarial services firm, serving as a trusted advisor to multiemployer and other retirement and health plans. They help bring high-quality benefits to working people by designing, implementing, evaluating, and communicating innovative and cost-effective benefit programs.
Location: This position will be in Seattle, WA or Southern California
Responsibilities:
- Review health plan statistical, financial, and other specialized reports.
- Prepare periodic client reports on plan operations and performance.
- Calculate projected plan costs for self-insured coverages, including medical, dental, prescription drug, and vision benefits.
- Calculate COBRA rates and other self-payment rates.
- Determine projected cost savings or costs of benefit or eligibility modifications.
- Coordinate receipt and review of insurance and service provider renewals.
- Prepare and review Requests for Proposals.
- Draft and review plan comparisons, participant notices, Summary Plan Descriptions, Plan Documents, and amendments.
- Assist in compliance and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with other analysts to develop and improve data and project management capabilities.
- Provide administrative assistance to clients and internal staff.
- Communicate effectively with external clients and across departments.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business, or a similar field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role or industry.
- Experience in the healthcare industry with an insurance company or employee benefits consulting firm.
