Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Associate for their Acquisitions team to join in Charleston, SC. This position focuses on the identification, underwriting, and acquisition of multifamily assets across our target markets. As a Senior Associate, you will be instrumental in executing their strategic investment goals, working directly with senior leadership, and making impactful contributions to our growing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Research & Sourcing: Conduct in-depth research to identify potential acquisition opportunities within the multifamily sector, leveraging relationships with brokers, owners, and market data to build a pipeline of viable assets.
- Financial Modeling & Underwriting: Prepare, evaluate, and maintain complex financial models for multifamily properties, assessing potential deals, ROI, risk factors, and alignment with company investment criteria.
- Due Diligence: Coordinate due diligence efforts, including property tours, financial audits, site visits, and third-party inspections. Analyze findings and recommend strategies to mitigate risks.
- Investment Analysis & Reporting: Collaborate with the investment team to present acquisition opportunities, including detailed investment memos, proforma analysis, and market data, to support decision-making processes.
- Deal Structuring: Work with internal teams to structure, negotiate, and close multifamily property transactions, ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory standards.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, investors, and industry professionals to enhance deal flow and expand market knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field (MBA or relevant certifications are a plus).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, with a focus on multifamily assets.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, with a solid understanding of Excel and real estate underwriting software.
- Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and with external partners.
- Proven track record of successful multifamily acquisitions or investments.
