Job Title: Accounts Payable Accountant

Compensation: $80,000 to $95,000 Base + Bonus

Job Description:
We are currently working with a leading hedge fund that is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. This role will report directly report into the accounting director and have the ability to work ad-hoc projects with other teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
- Generate reports detailing accounts payables status.
- Assist with month-end closing.
Qualifications:.
- 1 to 5 years of accounting experience at a financial services, sell-side, or buyside firm.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
