Job Overview:

My client is looking for a skilled Actuary for Personal Lines to join their team. My client is a well-established insurance provider headquartered in Massachusetts. They offer a comprehensive range of property and casualty insurance products, including coverage for automobiles, homes, motorcycles, watercraft, and businesses. Operating across multiple states in the U.S., they work through a network of independent agents and brokers. The company is known for its commitment to customer service and innovation, striving to be a trusted name in the insurance industry.

In this position, you will be responsible for developing actuarial models following CAS (Casualty Actuarial Society) guidelines. These models will play a crucial role in enhancing the performance of the actuarial department and potentially benefiting other areas within the organization, ultimately impacting the company's overall results. You will ensure the models are accurate and up-to-date. Additionally, you will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the models, explaining their inputs and conclusions to colleagues.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree plus relevant certification
  • Related experience

Experience:

  • 3+ years in the field
  • Passed MAS I and MAS II or have equivalent knowledge

Skills:

  • Broad understanding of industry practices, standards, and concepts
  • Ability to apply analytical business skills in your work

Required:

  • Experience with Generalized Linear Models (GLMs) and complex quantitative analyses for insurance companies, preferably related to similar products
  • Familiarity with SAS or SQL
  • Knowledge of insurance operations and regulations
  • Ability to innovate or improve existing processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
