They are seeking a skilled and proactive Market Assistant CFO to support financial operations within the market and contribute to the overall financial strategy.

Position Overview:
As the Market Assistant CFO, you will assist the Market CFO in managing the financial operations, reporting, and strategy for the market. You will play a key role in supporting the financial planning and analysis processes, ensuring financial targets are met, and providing insights for decision-making at both the market and executive levels. This role requires strong leadership, excellent analytical skills, and an in-depth understanding of finance in a healthcare or health plan setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Market CFO in overseeing all financial operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with healthcare regulations.

  • Lead and manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for the market, providing timely and accurate reports to senior leadership.

  • Prepare and review financial statements and management reports, analyzing variances and providing recommendations for financial optimization.

  • Assist in the development of financial strategies to enhance market profitability and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure that the financial activities of the market comply with all applicable accounting principles, regulations, and policies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, clinical, and business development, to assess financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Monitor market performance against financial targets and provide proactive insights and solutions to address any challenges.

  • Supervise and mentor junior finance team members, supporting their professional development.

  • Lead or support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and timely resolution of any findings.

  • Assist in preparing materials for executive meetings and board reports, summarizing financial performance, market trends, and opportunities.

  • Provide strategic financial advice to market leaders, aiding in decision-making processes and helping to drive business growth.

  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and financial best practices relevant to the healthcare sector.

  • Other ad-hoc financial duties as needed, supporting the Market CFO in achieving financial and strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant financial certifications preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership or assistant CFO role, ideally within a healthcare or health plan environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and healthcare-specific financial regulations.

  • Proven experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing finance professionals.

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, reporting software, and Excel; experience with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems is a plus.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders and senior leadership.

  • Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively with diverse teams to meet organizational goals.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in healthcare finance or managing financial operations within a health plan.

  • Familiarity with healthcare-specific financial regulations and reporting, including CMS guidelines.

  • Experience in M&A, financial modeling, and long-term strategic financial planning.
