Private Equity Fund of Funds Associate

We're currently working with a client in the Chicago region looking to add on an Associate/Senior Associate to their team between now and Summer 2025. This would a subdivision of a much larger investment management firm where you would be focused on Fund of Fund investments with a fairly Generalist approach. The team is lean so you would be able to come in and quickly make a large impact on the trajectory of the organization as well as recieve direct exposure to Senior Leadership within the organization. Key Responsibilities:

  • Fund Selection: Conduct comprehensive analysis and due diligence on prospective private equity funds, including evaluating fund performance, strategy, management team, and market positioning.
  • Portfolio Management: Assist in the monitoring and management of existing fund investments, including performance tracking, risk assessment, and reporting.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial modeling and analysis to support investment decisions and portfolio management.
  • Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to inform investment strategies and decisions.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed investment reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including investors and senior management.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with fund managers, industry contacts, and other stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to support the overall investment process and contribute to the firm's strategic goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, CFA) preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, asset management, or a related field. Experience with fund of funds is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, proficiency in financial modeling, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong interest in private equity and investment management.
