Chief Accounting Officer
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to join our executive team. The CAO will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with statutory and GAAP reporting requirements, and providing strategic financial leadership. This role requires a deep understanding of the P&C insurance industry and a proven track record of leadership. This role will be onsite in Philadelphia, PA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the accounting department, including financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and GAAP reporting requirements.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of all regulatory reports and financial statements.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the executive team.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of leadership experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on the P&C insurance industry.
- Extensive knowledge of statutory and GAAP reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
