Selby Jennings is partnered with an Investment Banking Boutique focused on UMM-Large cap M&A seeking an Investment Banking Associate working on Healthcare Services/Healthcare IT. This office runs lean deal teams, and is home to a Global Co-Head of Healthcare M&A. Bankers will primarily support transaction for this Managing Director, but may also staff across Software and Transporation and Infrastructure M&A as well.

Ideal candidates are current Investment Banking Assocaites 1 or 2's with focus on Healthcare M&A currently in or open to relocating to San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transactional Execution: Lead and participate in the full cycle of transactional execution, including preparing marketing pitches, reviewing and formulating financial analysis, and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations.
  • Client Interaction: Interact with senior team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives.
  • Valuation Analysis: Define, guide, and review detailed valuation analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and LBO analyses.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed combination and other financial analyses in the context of M&A transactions or pitch situations.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to Associates and Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Strategic Meetings: Develop content for strategic meetings with clients regarding M&A or capital market transactions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience in an investment banking front office role.
  • A well-rounded academic background from a top-tier educational institution.
  • Strong financial modeling skills.
  • Understanding of the transaction cycle and execution-oriented mindset.
  • Impeccable communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients, and key stakeholders.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently.
