Job Summary:
The firm is seeking an Investment Banking Analyst with 1+ years of professional experience, ideally in private equity or investment banking. The role involves supporting ESOPs, buy-side, and sell-side transactions. The team typically handles between 12-14 middle market deals annually (between $75-$100 million range). Analysts engage directly with clients and can quickly advance to Associate, with a focus on a collaborative culture and work life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft presentation decks, pitches, and marketing materials using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel to support prospective client engagements.
- Write detailed, confidential information memorandums outlining key transaction insights.
- Conduct industry research, comparable company analyses, and buyer research to provide actionable insights.
- Develop targeted buyer lists and market active deals to potential buyers.
- Enter and analyze financial data, including creating and maintaining financial models such as discounted cash flow (DCF) and leveraged buyout (LBO) analyses.
- Assist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, supporting marketing efforts and deal execution.
- Attend client meetings, industry conferences, and relevant training sessions to build expertise and network.
- Participate in 12-14 M&A and ESOP deals annually, primarily in the lower middle market.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and/or MBA
- Minimum of 12 months in private equity or investment banking
- Effectively communicated analysis through Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, including high-quality messaging, structure, and formatting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Top-tier organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of current market terms and trends
- Engage directly with clients, taking a front-and-center role in deal execution.
- Proficiency in drafting presentation decks, pitches, and marketing materials; writing detailed confidential memorandums; conducting industry and market research; developing buyer lists; and financial modeling (DCF and LBO analyses).
- Attend client meetings, industry conferences, and training sessions to enhance expertise and network.
- Located in or willing to relocate to Chicago, IL
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $90,000-$110,000
- OTE: $150,000
