Position Overview:
The Senior Principal Actuary will play a key role in the consulting practice, utilizing deep expertise in P&C insurance to deliver superior results in areas such as reserving, pricing, and capital modeling. This leadership role involves managing complex actuarial projects, mentoring junior staff, and supporting business development, including client relationship management and proposal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage actuarial consulting engagements across the P&C space, including:
Loss reserving for property and casualty lines of business
Pricing analysis for commercial and personal lines
Capital modeling and risk-based capital assessments
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic insights and presenting results to executives and boards.
Oversee and review the technical work products to ensure high-quality, actionable deliverables.
Mentor and develop actuarial team members, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.
Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and maintaining long-term client relationships.
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver integrated solutions across actuarial and other service lines.
Qualifications:
Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) - Required
12+ years of actuarial experience, specifically in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance
Proven consulting experience, ideally from a top-tier actuarial or management consulting firm
Expertise in reserving, pricing, and capital modeling for P&C insurance
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing multiple complex projects
Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in business development, client-facing roles, and strategic growth initiatives
