Job Title: Credit Risk Vice President - Financial Institutions
Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Risk Vice President to join their Credit Risk Management team, focusing on the financial institutions sector. This individual will be responsible for managing and assessing credit risks for a diverse portfolio, including super-regional banks, credit unions, and credit card processors. The role requires a deep understanding of financial products, credit assessments, and regulatory compliance, with a strong emphasis on monitoring and managing risk across various client relationships. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to support the company's goals while maintaining high standards of risk management and compliance. This is a leadership position offering the opportunity to drive credit risk strategies and collaborate across various business lines.
Responsibilities:
- Manage exposure to a client base consisting of super-regional, multistate, and single state banks, credit unions, and credit card processors.
- Lead due diligence, structuring, approval, risk grading, and ongoing monitoring of a diverse portfolio, including derivatives and securities trading relationships.
- Respond to client credit needs and provide sound judgment through collaboration across all Risk and Business levels.
- Analyze client transactions, prepare credit materials, negotiate legal documentation, and ensure the setup of credit facilities.
- Track clients and industry trends, keeping key stakeholders updated on developments and their potential impact on credit ratings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 8+ years of experience in credit risk management, particularly in financial services or investment banking.
- Strong understanding of financial products, corporate finance, financial modeling, and market dynamics.
- Advanced knowledge of financial statements, accounting, and credit agreements.
- Experience with derivative products (including ISDA and CSA) and strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
