Tax Management

  • Formulate and periodically review tax strategies and plans, ensuring the effective execution of related tax accounting practices.
  • Establish and uphold a comprehensive tax compliance framework to manage corporate tax responsibilities, in line with national and international standards and guidelines.
  • Actively monitor VAT impacts on company activities, devise strategies to reduce VAT liabilities, and ensure all VAT and withholding tax submissions are accurate and comply with established policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax legislation and assess their effects on operations.
  • Provide strategic advice on the tax implications of business decisions, support due diligence for potential acquisitions, and offer ongoing guidance to internal stakeholders on evolving tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with relevant entities to integrate updates related to both indirect and direct taxation.
  • Prepare tax provision schedules, payment plans, and cash flow forecasts for VAT (as applicable).
  • Implement tax-related projects such as e-invoicing to improve operational efficiency.
  • Conduct internal audits and manage special tax-related projects to protect company stakeholders from fiscal risks.
  • Maintain effective control procedures across all tax processes and assist in managing related legal proceedings, disputes, and appeals.

Strategic Contribution

  • Ensure the effective translation of the divisional strategy into sectional business plans to achieve vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing strategies.

People Management

  • Achieve assigned objectives through effective leadership of the section by setting individual goals, managing performance, developing, and motivating staff to maximize sectional performance.
  • Lead talent development initiatives for the section, collaborating with technical/discipline experts to ensure the availability of talent to meet business needs.

Budgeting and Financial Planning

  • Oversee the preparation and recommendation of the sectional budget and monitor financial performance against the budget, ensuring all sectional activities are conducted in accordance with approved guidelines.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Develop and lead the implementation of department policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls covering all areas of the assigned function to meet all relevant procedural/legislative requirements while delivering a quality, cost-effective service consistently.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive change management through continuous improvement of department systems, processes, and practices, considering global standards and changes in the business environment that require proactive action plans.

Reporting

  • Oversee that all department reports are prepared timely and accurately, meeting requirements, policies, and meet quality standards.
