Senior Actuarial Manager

Position Summary:
My client is launching an office in Monterey Bay, and looking for a Senior Actuarial Manager to oversee the actuarial functions of the team, including risk assessment, pricing, reserving, and financial modeling. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of actuarial principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the actuarial team, providing guidance and mentorship.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop pricing models.
Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports and reserves.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with company goals.
Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) or equivalent designation.
Minimum of 8 years of actuarial experience, with at least 1 year in a managerial role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Knowledge of insurance industry regulations and standards.
