Vice President Transaction Management
We are seeking an experienced Transaction Management Vice President to join our client's team in London. This mid-level role within the front office is perfect for a lending professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. In this role, you will collaborate closely with client relationship managers and sector experts to originate new lending transactions. The work is fast-paced and multifaceted, providing exposure to various sectors, with a primary focus on one core sector (preferably Shipping). You will also engage with clients, prospects, other banks, technical and legal advisors, and internal departments such as Credit Risk Management, Legal, and Deal Execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lending Transactions: Oversee and process credit approval packages, financial modeling, and risk assessments. You'll be responsible for running internal models, interfacing with risk management, and ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- Client Interaction: Work closely with client relationship managers and sector experts to originate new lending transactions. You'll have frequent contact with clients, prospects, other banks, technical and legal advisors, and internal departments such as Credit Risk Management, Legal, and Deal Execution.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with internal policies, manage deal closing, and prepare marketing materials. You'll be responsible for deal closing, including final CPs and obtaining the final loan documents.
- Sector Focus: Specialize in one core sector (preferably Shipping) while also working with other sectors. You'll be exposed to various sectors in which we specialize, providing recommendations and analysis of different transaction structures.
- Supporting Sector Bankers: Assist in the origination of new transactions, including providing input into marketing materials, due diligence, and term sheets.
- Legal Documentation: Issue instructions to nominated legal firms for the preparation of loan documents, review these documents, and support sectors in client negotiations. You'll validate key terms and conditions to ensure they reflect credit approval conditions and balance risk appetite optimally.
- Due Diligence: Prepare and review due diligence, summarizing and performing analytics. You'll supervise and write Greenlight memos, presentations, and discussions with Risk Management.
- Closing Coordination: Ensure the fulfilment of CPs and coordinate with Legal, Deal Execution, Treasury, and other internal departments to ensure a smooth closing process.
- Team Development: Cultivate a cohesive team environment by consistently providing guidance, mentorship, and training to support and develop new and junior team members. You'll captain the Execution Team and guide transactions from Greenlight through closing.
- Special Projects: Manage special projects as directed by TM Management, working with and coaching junior colleagues to support their personal and professional development.
Qualification/Education:
- University-level education in finance, economics, accounting, management, engineering, or a related field.
- CFA certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant banking experience at a leading financial institution.
- Prior experience in asset-based finance, particularly shipping finance.
