An exciting, technology forward-thinking Investment Management firm is seeking a talented Cloud Platform Engineer to join a compact, dynamic cloud and infrastructure engineering team. You'll be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure using AWS primarily, although working knowledge of Azure and GCP is hugely beneficial for exploration purposes. Your role will involve significant collaboration with the broader engineering org, creating reference architectures, writing IAM policies, building GitHub Actions workflows, deploying Cloud Custodian policies, and remediating security incidents. You'll also educate developers on cloud technologies and collaborate with external vendors as you help create a world-class cloud engineering environment supporting billions of dollars in assets. This is a high-impact role within a rapidly evolving investment firm that boast and incredibly exciting portfolio spanning multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Build and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable cloud environments using AWS CDK, Azure Blueprints, GCP Deployment Manager, and HashiCorp Terraform.
- Automation and Monitoring: Implement automated workflows and monitoring solutions to ensure optimal performance and quick incident response.
- Security & Compliance: Configure and manage security controls (firewalls, IAM, encryption) to uphold security standards.
- Core Cloud Services: Manage essential cloud components, including virtual networks, storage solutions, load balancers, VMs, databases, containers, and serverless services.
- Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts using Python and PowerShell to automate tasks and streamline operations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members to document, share, and implement ideas, leveraging tools like Atlassian Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Zoom, and Artifactory.
Technical Skills:
- Cloud Platforms: Extensive experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, and JavaScript.
- Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub Actions.
- Containerization: Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
- Database Management: Experience with large-scale databases (BigQuery, MongoDB).
- Networking: Strong understanding of cloud networking and security protocols.
- Version Control: Proficiency with Git and CI/CD tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in contributing to modern cloud infrastructure environment/s.
- Proven track record in transitioning traditional IT services to cloud environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
