Senior Actuary, Principal-Based Reserving

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Actuary to lead our Principle-Based Reserving (PBR) efforts for Fixed Indexed Annuities (FIA). This role is pivotal in ensuring our annuity products comply with upcoming PBR regulations, with potential expansion into other annuity products in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Oversight: Lead the PBR initiatives for FIA products, with potential future involvement in other annuity products.
  • Quarterly Reporting: Oversee the quarterly PBR reporting process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Modeling and Assumptions: Utilize Alfa models effectively, and provide input on assumptions and margins set by a separate team.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Stay abreast of regulatory changes, build frameworks, and communicate updates to internal modeling teams.
  • Experience and Expertise: Leverage extensive PBR experience, potentially including work with Registered Index-Linked Annuities (RILAs).
  • Communication and Influence: Exhibit strong communication and leadership skills, working closely with company leadership and influencing decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

  • FSA Designation: Must hold the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation; career ASA candidates will not be considered.
  • PBR Expertise: Demonstrated experience with PBR, particularly in the context of annuities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with Alfa modeling software and knowledgeable about assumptions and margins.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and ability to adapt to changes.
  • Leadership Potential: While initially not managing a team, the role may evolve into a leadership position, overseeing the STAT reporting team.
