Job Title: Vice President of Private Debt
Location: DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia)
Job Summary: Seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Private Debt to join our investment team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mezzanine debt and minority equity investments, with a deep understanding of the private debt market. This role involves sourcing, analyzing, and managing investment opportunities, as well as leading due diligence processes and presenting recommendations to the Investment Committee.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Sourcing and Analysis:
- Identify and evaluate mezzanine debt and minority equity investment opportunities in the DMV region.
- Conduct thorough market research and financial analysis to assess the viability and potential returns of investment opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with investment banks, brokers, and other industry contacts to source deals.
Due Diligence and Execution:
- Lead the due diligence process for potential investments, including financial modeling, risk assessment, and valuation.
- Prepare detailed investment memorandums and present findings to the Investment Committee.
- Negotiate terms and structure of investment deals, ensuring alignment with the firm's investment strategy and risk tolerance.
Portfolio Management:
- Monitor the performance of existing investments, providing regular updates and reports to senior management.
- Work closely with portfolio companies to support their growth and strategic initiatives.
- Identify and implement strategies to optimize returns and manage risks within the portfolio.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with other departments, including legal, compliance, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of investment strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in private debt, mezzanine financing, and minority equity investments.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with a proven track record of successful investments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment strategies to stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of the DMV market and a robust network of industry contacts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
