Overview:
Selby Jennings is partnered with a well-established real estate investment, finance, and asset management firm that's looking for a talented professional to join its team. With over 250 employees across many U.S. locations, the firm specializes in investment management, loan origination, asset management, and special servicing, overseeing more than $10 billion in assets under management and nearly $8 billion in equity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate credit investment opportunities, including floating-rate loans, conduit loans, distressed loans, mezzanine loans, preferred equity investments, and CMBS securities.
- Develop financial models in Excel and Argus to analyze property and loan cash flows.
- Assist senior investment professionals with investment analysis and recommendations.
- Conduct due diligence on loan collateral, including reviewing broker reports, third-party assessments, lease agreements, service contracts, and listing agreements.
- Support loan closing processes and capital markets activities.
- Perform market research on key U.S. real estate markets.
- Participate in property and site inspections as required.
- Prepare comprehensive investment memoranda for senior leadership and the Investment Committee.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field from a top-tier university preferred.
- Previous internship experience in real estate, investment banking, or investment management is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
- Experience with Argus is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
