Job Overview:
Our Client is seeking a skilled and analytical Cost of Care Actuary to support the development and execution of strategies that improve healthcare affordability and outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of medical economics, healthcare claims data, and actuarial methodologies to drive insights that inform decision-making and cost optimization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret healthcare claims data to identify trends in utilization, cost, and performance.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, operational, and financial teams to model cost savings and forecast financial impacts.

  • Develop actuarial models to support value-based care initiatives and risk adjustment.

  • Provide insights into population health trends and cost drivers.

  • Design and evaluate programs aimed at improving patient outcomes while managing costs.

  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders and senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare actuarial roles, preferably within a value-based care or medical economics environment.

  • Proficiency in analyzing large healthcare datasets, including medical and pharmacy claims.

  • Experience with SQL, Excel, and actuarial modeling tools; knowledge of Python, R, or SAS is a plus.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable business recommendations.
