Experienced Associate
A brand new operationally focused LMM Private Equity firm based out of Chicago is looking to add on an experienced Associate to their team and is flexible on the start date throughout H2. This would be the firm's first hire outside of the 4 original founding partners. This individual would receive direct exposure to the firms senior leadership as well as carry in the firm's first fund to incentivize you to stay long term with the firm. The partners at the firm are made up of various individuals from some of the top firms in the Chicago region and have big plans for the organization. Responsibilities:
- Deal Sourcing and Evaluation: Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities through market research, networking, and financial analysis.
- Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence, including financial modeling, valuation, industry analysis, and risk assessment.
- Transaction Execution: Assist in the structuring, negotiation, and execution of investment transactions, including drafting investment memos and coordinating with legal and financial advisors.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage portfolio companies, providing strategic guidance and support to enhance value creation and achieve investment objectives.
- Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscape to inform investment strategies and decisions.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, including investment committees and investors.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with portfolio company management teams, industry experts, and other key stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and financial analysis. Advanced knowledge of Excel and other financial software.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Work Ethic: High level of integrity, professionalism, and a strong work ethic, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and investment strategies, with a proactive and flexible approach to work.
