Actuarial Consultant
Team Overview: We are a consulting team with deep expertise in actuarial science, technology, and financial modeling, specializing in individual life and annuity insurance products. Our goal is to provide clients with advanced analytics and insights to support informed business decisions.
Role and Responsibilities: The candidate will be involved in a variety of projects, including:
- Actuarial Appraisals and Financial Projections: Conducting modeling and projections to support actuarial appraisals.
- Experience Studies and Assumption Analysis: Developing and analyzing studies to inform actuarial assumptions.
- Asset Adequacy and Cash Flow Testing: Performing tests to ensure asset adequacy and proper cash flow management.
- M&A Due Diligence: Reviewing financial metrics, assumptions, risks, and operations during mergers and acquisitions.
- Valuation Models for Reporting: Creating models for US statutory and GAAP financial reporting.
- Risk and Capital Assessments: Evaluating risk and capital, including RBC and economic capital frameworks.
- Financial Modeling Solutions: Implementing proprietary financial modeling and technology solutions.
- Product Development: Assisting in the development of new insurance products.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or a related quantitative field.
- ASA status with the Society of Actuaries (SOA), actively pursuing FSA designation.
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time actuarial work experience.
Desired:
- Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in Excel, VBA, and SAS.
- Experience with insurance product modeling, particularly with specific platforms.
- Ability to solve problems creatively, both independently and within a team.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with a client-first approach.
- Consulting experience or a background in individual life insurance is a plus
