Lead Risk Actuary - P&C Reinsurance
We have partnered with a prominent international reinsurer to support the growth of their Bermudan operations.
They are seeking a Senior Actuary to lead the further development of their risk management and quantification processes. This role will involve validating and refining their models for various risks, delivering comprehensive reports and findings to senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies, recommending and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies, and leveraging insights to steer portfolio strategies and achieve tangible data-driven profitability outcomes.
You will play a impactful role in ensuring risks are effectively assessed and controlled, and that they are understood by both technical and non-technical stakeholders, across a variety of internal functions. You will report directly to the C-Suite (CRO, CFO & CUO) in this new, standalone leadership position.
Role Requirements:
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or an equivalent qualification.
- 5+ years of relevant technical experience in the P&C reinsurance sector is a must.
- Strong understanding of NatCat modeling techniques and simulations.
- Proficient with actuarial software, data analysis techniques, and programming languages (R, SQL, Python, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, driving strategic initiatives and fostering collaboration.
- Must be based in, or prepared to relocate to Bermuda, with support provided
