About the Job
Seeking a dynamic and passionate compliance professional to join our client as the Europe Head of Compliance. If you have a keen interest in financial services, payments, and the crypto industry, this role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the compliance efforts. Reporting directly to the Group Head of Compliance, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Group and our global expansion.
Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end compliance oversight for EMI and DASP businesses, including conduct risk, GDPR, operational risk management, Safeguarding, AML/CTF, and regulatory reporting.
- Stay ahead of changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment, ensuring the firm remains compliant and the Board is fully briefed on any impacts.
- Build and maintain trusted and effective working relationships with regulatory bodies and stakeholders as SPOC.
- Work with the wider compliance team to ensure all policies are complete and aligned with regulatory obligations and internal standards.
- Collaborate with the French team to ensure all entity-specific risks are captured and that all areas and processes are fit and ready for audit and assurance reviews.
- Undertake periodic reporting to relevant governance forums regarding the effectiveness of the monitoring and assurance framework.
- Ensure the regulatory map for the firm is kept up to date and accurate by monitoring regulatory changes and their impacts on the business.
- Review, maintain, and enhance existing compliance controls to ensure the firm operates at the highest standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
- A professional with 7+ years of experience in managing compliance and financial regulation, supported by relevant qualifications.
- Fluent in both written and verbal English and French.
- Extensive knowledge of banking regulations.
- Able to work independently and take the initiative to drive results.
- Enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced start-up/fintech environment.
- Strong team player with excellent stakeholder relationship skills.
- Confident in presenting compliance frameworks to various stakeholders, including the Board, investors, clients, and banking partners.
