Credit Risk Analytics & Reporting Associate

I am currently working on Associate-level Credit Risk Analytics & Reporting role at a leading financial institution. This position focuses on safeguarding the organization from counterparties with elevated credit risks by identifying, measuring, monitoring, and reporting risks while enhancing risk management processes. Key responsibilities include building credit models, performing financial analysis, and developing data-driven solutions using SQL, Python, and Tableau.

Ideal candidates will have a strong financial services background, preferably in broker/dealer environments, with expertise in Excel, SQL, Python, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Alteryx. Experience with Snowflake, GitHub, financial statement analysis, and risk methodology development is highly valued. Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.

This role can sit out of Chicago or Dallas.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the ongoing creditworthiness of counterparties and escalate issues as needed.
  • Provide analytical solutions for financial statement analysis, identifying key metrics and trends.
  • Collaborate with IT and other teams to design and implement scalable data analytics solutions.
  • Lead high-priority projects with minimal oversight.
  • Address critical, time-sensitive, and complex counterparty inquiries.
  • Support system, data, and risk methodology development and review.
  • Develop and maintain written policies and procedures.
  • Participate in control testing activities and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Support audits and exams with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Financial Engineering, Data Science, Risk Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Master's degree or progress towards a Master's degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of data analytics experience or relevant financial services industry experience
  • Familiarity with financial statements, brokerage statements, and accounting records.
  • Proficient knowledge of the financial services industry and associated risks.
  • Understanding of securities markets, derivatives, and option trading strategies.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL skills.
  • Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with data stack applications (e.g., Snowflake) and code versioning (e.g., GitHub).
  • Coding experience (e.g., Python, R, VBA macros).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and/or S&P Global Market Intelligence.
