Junior Operational Risk Analyst

A leading global investment management firm is seeking a junior-level Operational Risk Analyst to join its risk management team. This team plays a key role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating operational risks across the firm's global fixed income investments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong data analysis and coding skills (Python, SQL) who is eager to develop their expertise in risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and maintaining a risk management framework to monitor, measure, and report operational risks in fixed income investments.
  • Utilize Python and SQL to analyze large datasets, identify risk patterns, and generate insights for portfolio managers, traders, and leadership.
  • Support the development, validation, and enhancement of risk models and analytics tools to assess operational risks effectively.
  • Automate risk reporting processes and develop dashboards to improve data visualization and decision-making.
  • Conduct research on best practices in operational risk management and contribute to process improvements.
  • Stay updated on market trends and financial regulations to enhance risk frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects to enhance operational resilience and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in risk management, data analytics, investment operations, or a related field.
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, data science, mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis, risk modeling, and process automation.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail.
  • Experience in fixed income, mutual funds, or investment management is a plus.
  • Progress toward CFA or FRM certification is a plus but not required.
