The Head of Research of a Legacy Prop Trading Team that specializes in High Frequency Trading (HFT) and Short Term Global Futures Strategies, encompassing both Marketing Making and Marketing Taking Strategies. This team is seeking an experienced Quantitative Researcher to lead their intraday research agenda and develop alphas that go beyond latency-sensitive trades. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the team's research direction, leveraging cutting-edge techniques to drive alpha generation beyond the scope of traditional latency-sensitive trades. They will be integral in scaling the team's capabilities, contributing to the development of high-capacity, systematic futures strategies that enhance profitability and optimize risk-adjusted returns. Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research to identify and analyze systematic inefficiencies within liquid futures markets.
- Formulate actionable trading insights and refine existing strategies.
- Spot and capitalize on short-term, high-frequency / intraday opportunities, turning them into profitable trades.
- Lead the entire life cycle of strategy development, including data management, idea generation, back testing, implementation, and performance analysis.
- Contribute to the creation and improvement of research tools to streamline operations.
- Foster a team-oriented culture, promoting collaboration and shared accountability.
Requirements:
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar.
- 5+ years of experience in systematic alpha research for liquid futures, focusing on high-frequency and tick data.
- Strong command of data science techniques such as feature creation and signal aggregation.
- Expertise in managing and processing large data sets efficiently.
- Proficiency with C++, Python in a Linux environment, and experience in AWS
- Highly driven with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
