Data Engineer (Integration Specialist) | Systematic Hedge Fund

We are working with a leading multi-strategy systematic hedge fund that is seeking a Data Integration Specialist to join their team in London. This is a unique opportunity to manage and enhance extensive datasets used in their research and trading platform, directly supporting high-quality investment returns.

In this role, you will:

  • Build Automated ETL Pipelines: Design, develop, and optimize automated ETL processes to support quantitative research, analysis, and trading.
  • Manage Extensive Datasets: Oversee the multiple and extensive datasets used in the research and trading platform.
  • Design and Implement Data Solutions: Contribute to the design and implementation of the data store and its API.
  • Monitor Data Health: Ensure the reliability of data fetching processes and maintain data quality.
  • Integrate Alternative Datasets: Identify and integrate new datasets to enhance data coverage.
  • Support Users: Provide support to quantitative researchers, analysts, and traders, understanding and addressing their data needs.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant Experience: over 2 years experience as a data engineer. Also software engineer's or data scientist's working on data engineering related work will be good to see.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python is essential. Experience with asynchronous programming is beneficial.
  • Communication Skills: Advanced English skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively and understand user needs.
  • Data Management Expertise: Experience with both structured and unstructured data management is a plus.
  • Financial Data Knowledge: Familiarity with financial data, particularly equity and derivatives, is beneficial.
  • Intellectual Curiosity: A strong desire to learn new technologies and continuously improve.
  • Autonomy and Collaboration: Ability to work independently within a global team.
