I am partnering with a leading proprietary trading firm that is looking to hire an experienced Portfolio Manager with a 4-5+ year track record from a buyside fund. The firm specializes in capacity-constrained, high-conviction strategies. They are sector and strategy agnostic, with a focus on deeply specialized trading approaches.
What They Are Looking For
- Specialized, niche strategies - Portfolio managers who are true experts in a defined area, rather than generalists across multiple products and asset classes.
- Short-term, trading-oriented strategies - A strong preference for relative value (RV), event-driven, or soft catalyst-driven strategies with a clear trading edge.
- Capacity-constrained plays - Strategies that are effective within a 500 GMV range, leveraging unique market inefficiencies.
- Discretionary or systematic approaches - Both will be considered.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- At least 4-5+ years of experience as a Trader at a hedge fund or proprietary trading firm.
- A demonstrable track record in a niche, capacity-constrained strategy with a repeatable edge.
- Proven risk management discipline and a history of positive P&L generation.
- Ability to operate independently while leveraging the firm's infrastructure and trading resources.
- Open to both discretionary and systematic portfolio management styles.
