Investments Associate - Structured Products
Overview:
A leading global institutional investment firm is looking to add a Investments Associate - Structured Products to its public markets team. The role focuses on the research, analysis, and active management of structured credit instruments within a long-only investment framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct research, trading support, and portfolio monitoring across structured products, including Agency and Non-Agency RMBS/CMBS and ABS
Analyze mortgage prepayment and credit data to identify trends and assess relative value
Build or enhance models to forecast prepayment and default behavior (prior experience in modeling is a strong plus)
Develop and communicate trade ideas to senior portfolio managers
Produce regular market updates and insights for internal stakeholders, including senior leadership
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in structured products or related fixed income markets
Solid understanding of Agency/Non-Agency MBS, CMBS, and ABS
Strong quantitative skills with the ability to analyze cashflows and model complex structures
Effective communicator with the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
Proficient in Excel; experience with modeling tools or programming (e.g. Python, R, SQL) is advantageous
