Actuarial Pricing Director
Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Actuarial Director to lead the pricing team. This role involves managing the daily operations of the pricing department, developing a team of skilled managers and analysts, and refining pricing processes to ensure competitiveness and data-driven decision-making. The Director will also develop new rating structures, incorporate advanced predictive analytics, and oversee filings with state Departments of Insurance.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and mentor a team of pricing managers and analysts to build a high-performing team.
- Drive continuous improvement by enhancing departmental skills and capabilities.
- Develop and implement processes for regularly updating pricing indications to stay competitive.
- Oversee the creation of rating structures with new variables, integrating advanced analytics and predictive modeling.
- Maintain, test, and optimize rating structures to ensure pricing accuracy and alignment with company goals.
- Conduct market-based analysis of competitors' pricing structures to inform strategy.
- Analyze price elasticity and market conditions to guide pricing decisions and meet business objectives.
- Lead the filing process with state Departments of Insurance, ensuring compliance and timely submissions.
- Develop in-house capabilities to reduce reliance on external consultants and streamline processes.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in pricing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive experience in rating structure development, GLMs, predictive analytics, and pricing optimization.
- Strong knowledge of insurance pricing and regulatory requirements, including experience with state filings.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team, focusing on coaching and professional growth.
- Expertise in market and competitor analysis, price elasticity, and strategic decision-making.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments and with senior leadership.
