The Opportunity: Join their team as they look to expand to satisfy the needs of their growing client base. They are looking to hire a Principal in San Francisco to maintain strong relationships with their West Coast clients while developing and strengthening a solid understanding of the global primary fund universe across all private market strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day client coverage, including regular client visits.
- Manage junior resources to oversee the creation of key client deliverables.
- Create and oversee strategic plans.
- Construct portfolios alongside the Portfolio Management Group.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of portfolios.
- Engage in allocation discussions.
- Report and monitor client portfolios.
- Provide regular portfolio updates and quarterly reports.
- Communicate with clients through pipeline calls, monthly calls, market updates, and ad-hoc requests.
- Lead cross-selling and up-selling of products and services with existing clients.
- Partner with Sales/Client Solutions to support pitch activities for prospective clients by being the expert on our management of Separate Account and Advisory relationships.
- Manage and cultivate fund manager relationships, fostering West Coast US manager coverage to drive opportunities alongside our secondaries and direct investing teams.
- Oversee the due diligence process for primary investments.
- Lead fund manager on-site visits and review all diligence materials.
- Present deals at Pre-Investment Committee meetings.
- Develop expertise in specific primary strategies and become a subject matter expert on all Private Market strategies and competitive landscapes.
- Attend annual/advisory board meetings and conferences.
- Assist in the development and mentoring of junior professionals.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of work experience in a financial industry/private markets client-facing setting.
- University degree; a Master's degree and/or CFA are a plus.
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of their proprietary systems.
- Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to travel.
