Newly-Qualfied Pricing Actuary (London Market)
Selby Jennings have partnered with a boutique specialist insurer, focused on underwriting a variety of niche and dynamic risks through their syndicate at Lloyd's. They are currently seeking a Newly-Qualified Pricing Actuary, with up to 1-year post-qualification experience (PQE), to join their team and work across various lines of business (LOBs).
As part of a smaller but growing Pricing team, the successful candidate will take on a breadth of responsibilities, including case pricing and model development, performing profitability reviews, delivering and enhancing layer performance insights, and contributing to business planning. This role will require a hands-on approach and a proactive mindset to drive improvements and efficiencies within the Pricing function. You will also provide mentorship and guidance to junior Analysts and maintain close collaboration with senior underwriters and stakeholders.
This position will report directly to the Head of Pricing and work in close proximity to business leadership.
Requirements:
- Qualified Actuary (through IFoA or equivalent) with 0-1 year post-qualification experience.
- 3-6 years of experience in Pricing, preferably within the London Market.
- Prior knowledge of programming languages such as R, Python, or SAS, considered strongly beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
