Lead Portfolio Management Actuary (London Market)

Selby Jennings have partnered with a well-respected and growing Lloyd's Syndicate to seek out a Lead Portfolio Management Actuary for their Pricing & Analytics team.

This role will be responsible for Portfolio Management across Specialty Property & Casualty LOBs, leveraging data analytics and performance monitoring techniques to produce and enhance insights on layer and portfolio performance. You will deliver findings to senior stakeholders and provide recommendations for adapting pricing strategies and optimising portfolios, as well as in refining overarching, cross-class models. Additionally, you will lead analyses across individual product lines and contribute to business planning class-by-class, in collaboration with appropriate Underwriting leaders.

You will report directly to the Head of Pricing and work closely with the Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO).

Requirements:

  • Degree graduate in a relevant quantitative field, i.e., Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Mathematics etc.
  • Qualified Actuary through IFoA or eq.
  • 3+ years of experience in Portfolio Management/Optimisation roles.
  • Background in Actuarial Portfolio Management or Pricing preferred, open to Data Science backgrounds with significant experience in (Re)Insurance interfaces.
  • Strong knowledge and awareness of London/Lloyd's Market principles, trends, and emerging risks.
