An innovative and growing energy trading firm in the greater Washington DC area is looking to hire a software engineer to join their tech team. They are seeking a full-stack developer with a strong focus on front-end development to help elevate their technology, with an immediate need to improve their UI.
The ideal candidate will have experience ranging from recent graduates to those with 3-4 years of experience and be proficient in React.js, Redux, or JavaScript (front-end), and Python or Java (back-end). A background in commodity/energy trading is not necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance the UI for trading tools to ensure seamless user experience for traders
- Collaborate with the team to update mapping tools to allow for effective data visualization
- Work on both front-end and back-end tasks, with a primary focus on front-end development
- Implement data visualization dashboards to present back-end outputs clearly and intuitively
- Contribute to the back-end framework, including database and logic changes over time
Qualifications:
- Experience from recent graduate to 3-4 years
- Proficiency in front-end technologies: React.js, Redux, or JavaScript
- Proficiency in back-end technologies: Python or Java
- Analytical mindset with the ability to understand and improve trading tools
- Understanding of industry is a plus
