About the Job
A leading private credit manager is looking to add a Director of Capital Formation, covering the Western US region, to their quickly growing team! The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the firm's capital formation activities and will play a key role in driving the growth of the business.
Director of Capital Formation Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a proactive and results-driven capital formation strategy to raise capital from institutional investors across the Western US region
- Identify and cultivate relationships with potential investors, presenting investment opportunities and effectively articulating the value proposition of the firm
- Collaborate closely with the investment team to understand the unique selling points of our portfolio companies and effectively communicate these to prospective investors.
- Represent the firm on roadshows, industry events, and conferences
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact fund raising efforts, adjusting strategies as needed.
Director of Capital Formation Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a finance/marketing/economics concentration (MBA preferred)
- Minimum 8-10+ years of experience in capital formation, with a strong background in private credit or private equity
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex investment concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude
- Demonstrated track record of successfully raising capital and closing deals in a competitive fund raising environment.
- Strong network within the LP community of the Western US
