Consultant
My client is currently seeking a Consultant to join their team and support senior consultants on top client accounts. This role is ideal for someone with a background in consulting, underwriting, or insurance who is looking to grow into a client-facing leadership role over the next few years.
In this role, the Consultant will play a key part in the financial strategy and analysis behind healthcare programs. You'll support client deliverables, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to both internal and external initiatives. This is a strong opportunity for someone who thrives in a data-driven environment and wants to deepen their expertise in the healthcare or insurance space.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct financial and data analysis related to healthcare costs, claims, reserves, and budgets
Assist in preparing client-facing reports and presentations
Support RFP processes, rate setting, and advanced financial modeling
Partner with senior consultants during client meetings and progressively take ownership of client relationships
Supervise and mentor analysts, ensuring high-quality deliverables are met on time
Contribute to business proposals and participate in internal initiatives or strategic projects
Monitor industry trends, regulations, and compliance updates relevant to clients
Qualifications
Required:
10-15 years of experience in financial consulting, insurance underwriting, actuarial analysis, or a related field (less experience may be considered for exceptional candidates)
Strong analytical mindset with a comfort in working with complex datasets
Effective communicator with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-technical audiences
Experience managing client relationships and delivering high-impact presentations
Leadership qualities, including initiative, mentoring, and project management
Maryland Health & Life License, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire
Proven leadership or mentoring experience in a professional environment
Experience working in a consulting firm or fast-paced client-facing role
