Senior Underwriter
Are you an experienced underwriter eager to make a significant impact in the insurance industry? We are looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our team and drive growth in the Primary Casualty sector!
This role can be based out of Dallas, Houston, Chicago, or Atlanta.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business, focusing on identifying risks and exposures.
- Provide exceptional customer service to brokers and clients, mentoring junior underwriters and helping them build their broker networks.
- Expand your broker network to generate new business, representing the company at meetings and events, and forging new relationships in the market.
- Work collaboratively with various internal teams, including distribution, actuary, claims, loss control, premium audit, credit, and legal, to maintain a profitable portfolio of primary accounts.
- Underwrite and price loss sensitive and guaranteed cost business for Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Commercial Auto Liability.
Requirements:
- At least five years of experience in underwriting Primary Casualty business.
- Proven expertise in both Guaranteed Cost and Loss Sensitive underwriting.
- Strong relationships with brokers handling Primary Casualty and Upper Middle Market business.
- In-depth knowledge of Middle Market Casualty lines, including Workers' Compensation, General Liability, and Automobile Liability.
- Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Customer-focused and sales-oriented mindset: motivated, proactive, and accountable.
- Interest in mentoring and training junior colleagues.
