Project Manager - Electronic Trading Technology

Summary

Selby Jennings is partnered with a leading multi-strategy hedge fund looking to bring a skilled Project Manager to lead the strategy and roll out of various investment technology projects for their Electronic Trading Team. This team is responsible for the internal development and support of the data, research, trading platforms and other proprietary front office technologies for my client's Fixed Income, Equities, and Options portfolio managers.

  • The successful candidate will be comfortable with portfolio manager, senior management, and technology interaction, have strong project management and communication skills, and is capable of performing business analysis as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior end users and business leaders from multiple investment teams as well as a team of software developers to define and deliver projects that drive business goals and efficiency.
  • Document business requirements in Confluence, technical requirements in JIRA, and/or project level integration analysis on a project-by-project basis
  • Conduct discovery analyses to understand user needs, scope open-ended projects, and conceptualize solutions.
  • Manage regular scrum meetings - Strong experience with SDLC and scrum agile practices
  • Support Technology, Business, and Project Management teams to a successful conclusion of projects by consulting across teams receiving input into operational delivery, planning and alignment


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant project management experience. 3+ years of Electronic trading experience preferred
  • Subject matter expertise in front office trading technologies
  • Financial markets experience is required, with a particular focus on Order Execution, Market Connectivity, Security Master, Trade Operations, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; Commercial experience with Portfolio Manager engagement
  • Business analysis and hands-on delivery experience across the SDLC of major change projects at an investment bank, software vendor, exchange, or buy-side firm
  • Strong project management skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively across broad set of domains and stakeholder groups
  • Experience simultaneously coordinating multiple projects across separate teams and functional areas
  • Ability to communicate at detailed levels to development teams and users, and executive updates to senior stakeholders.


Expected Total Compensation (Base Salary + Bonus): $250,000-$400,000
