Actuary - Life Financial Reporting & Projections
A leading life insurer is seeking an FSA-level Actuary to join their Institutional Life (IL) team. This high-impact role focuses on earnings and capital analysis for Life insurance products, and will play a key part in driving accurate financial reporting and strategic insights for senior leadership. This position is based in the NYC Home Office and offers strong cross-functional exposure across Finance, Actuarial, and Business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead quarterly variance analysis, reforecasts, and multi-year financial planning across key metrics such as management earnings, statutory surplus, and required capital
Manage accounting and valuation policies, support audit requests, and ensure compliance in partnership with Controllership and Actuarial Services
Develop and enhance projection models and actuarial software to accurately forecast Institutional Life earnings
Communicate financial results and key drivers to Finance and Business leadership
Build analytical tools to assess financial performance and risk
Monitor regulatory and product developments impacting valuation and reporting
Ideal Candidate:
FSA with 6+ years of actuarial experience, preferably in life insurance financial reporting
Strong understanding of life insurance products and associated financial metrics
Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams
High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
