C++ Software Engineer - Low Latency Trading Systems
An industry-leading multi-strategy hedge fund recently hired a Sr. Portfolio Manager who runs HFT strategies, and is looking to make his first engineering hire to help build his trading infrastructure from ground up. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building out low-latency trading systems or execution platforms, with knowledge of equity and/or global macro trading markets. Given that this is a new build, this role will not only involve technical skills, but also strong communication skills to communicate with investment and quantitative stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of a new cutting edge, low-latency trading system in C++
- Lead projects from conception to deployment; assist in innovating the frameworks of which trading applications are based
- Participate in performance tuning and optimization of low-latency technology
- Design and optimize systems that process large data sets and ensure high performance and stability
- Recommend ideas and solutions to improve efficiency, automation, etc
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working at a prop trading firm or quantitative hedge fund. The employer is only considering candidates from these types of companies.
- Excellent and proven C++ programming ability
- Prior experience building low-latency trading technology
- Strong communication skills to drive projects in a small environment
- Desire to work in a performance based environment
