Job Description:

A boutique Dutch auditing firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Audit Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of audit procedures, laws, and regulations, and possess excellent leadership skills. This role involves planning and managing audits, ensuring compliance with regulations, and evaluating the efficacy of risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and implement an overall risk management process for the organization.
  • Lead or supervise internal audits to verify the accuracy of financial records, transactions, and procedures.
  • Prepare and present reports that reflect audit results and document the process.
  • Identify areas of financial and operational risk within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable directives and regulations.
  • Review, assess, and manage the work of audit team members.
  • Train and mentor junior members of the audit team.
  • Conduct follow-up audits to monitor management's interventions.
  • Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding sector's rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards.
  • Liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organization to ensure that internal systems and controls are in place.

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience as an Audit Manager.
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and audit experience.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CIA, or CISA preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of auditing standards, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Experience with risk management and internal control processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Skills:

  • Strong background and experience with audit methodologies and techniques.
  • Prior success conducting external or internal audits.
  • Ability to build relationships while asking tough questions.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
